GENERAL CONDITIONS: On Thursday a cold front passing over our region, thus worsening weather conditions and falling temperatures. On Friday the depression will remain on central Italy, however it will also affect the Venetian region. Between Saturday and Sunday temporarily high pressure and thus settled weather conditions and significantly warmer; on Monday chance of instability due to an Atlantic trough.
FORECAST VALID FOR THE AFTERNOON-EVENING OF THURSDAY 29: Unsettled weather conditions, broken sky and widespread precipitation (80/90%), also thunderstorms and locally abundant in the Prealps. Decreasing snow level at 2800/2900 m, also at lower altitudes in the northern Dolomites. Decreasing bad weather and cloudiness during the night.
FRIDAY 30: Decreasing bad weather during the night and in the morning with few clear-ups and no precipitation. Then again increasing instability, cloudiness and chance of scattered showers. Mostly showers, more likely in the eastern areas especially in the Prealps (50/70%) and more scattered and locally also no precipitation (30/50%) in the central-western Dolomites. Snow level at 2800/3000 m. Decreasing cloudiness and precipitation in the afternoon/evening.
Temperatures: Again slightly falling, except for local rising high temperatures in case of more sunshine. At 2000 m: min 5°C, max 10°C; at 3000 m min -1°C, max 2°C.
Winds: North-easterly light/moderate in the valleys and Föhn; North-easterly moderate at high altitudes with 10-20 km/h at 2000 m, 10-35 km/h at 3000 m.
SATURDAY 31: Sunny, mostly clear to scarcely cloudy due to local low clouds in the early morning and cumuli during the day near the mountains. Summer temperatures during the day.
Temperatures: Almost unchanged low temperatures in the valleys, rising at high altitudes, significantly rising high temperatures. At 2000 m: min 7°C, max 15°C; at 3000 m min 2°C, max 6°C.
Winds: Light breezes in the valleys; North-easterly light at high altitudes with 5-10 km/h at 2000 m, 5-15 km/h at 3000 m.
SUNDAY 1: Sunny, mostly clear. Cumuli during the day only in the northern Dolomites and thus chance of isolated thunderstorms due to the warm weather. Summer temperatures.
MONDAY 2: Worsening weather conditions with chance of showers and thunderstorms especially in the afternoon. Falling temperatures. Forecaster: G.M.
